Job Title: Infrastructure Technician Trainer

Reports To: Director

Jobs Reporting into the Job Holder: None

Salary: £30k - £35k 

1. Job Purpose:

You will be working directly with apprentices to support them through their Infrastructure Technician (Level 3).

This includes all classroom training and exam sitting support, bringing to life the qualification, along with the apprenticeship standard guidelines.

A large proportion of students are within the 16-24 age group. Students will be from all ages and backgrounds, so you will be continuously striving to build, maintain and improve relationships with the students in order to achieve the best results for all.

2. Main Responsibilities:

As the Trainer, your role is challenging and diverse involving:

  • Delivering the Apprenticeship training in the classroom environment.

  • Delivering the qualification training in the classroom environment.

  • Maintaining current professional knowledge within the IT field and undertake CPD activities as required.

  • Assessing and supporting learners towards the successful completion of their qualification.

  • Managing your diary efficiently to ensure timely classroom sessions.

  • The support, advising and motivation of learners.

  • Overcoming barriers to learning and adapt delivery to meet learner’s needs.

  • Providing attendance and feedback reports.

  • Using e-portfolio system to record learner's progress.

  • Promote and embed Equality and Diversity, Safeguarding, British Values, Prevent and Health and Safety to all learning sessions.

  • Communicate any issues or concerns about learners to your line manager and designated Safeguarding Officer as appropriate.

3. Requirements of Knowledge, Experience, Technical Skills and Behaviours​


  • Relevant IT qualification

  • Recognised Teaching qualification, e.g. PTLLs or equivalent.

  • Experience of delivering Apprenticeship qualifications including Functional Skills.

  • Relevant occupational competence within an IT environment.

  • Strong IT capability.

  • Problem solving capability.

  • Organisational skills are a must, as well as the ability to plan your time effectively.

  • Confident and professional with the ability to inspire and motivate people.

  • Quality driven and prepared to go the extra mile for your learners.

  • Must be an excellent communicator who is learner and quality focused.

  • The ability to collaborate with others and contribute towards targets.

  • Experience of successful teamwork.

  • Ability to work under pressure and deal with high workload.


  • Experience of working to KPI's.

  • Apprenticeship Trainer or Tutor qualification.
