Job Title: Learner Engagement Consultant

Reports To: Business Development Manager

Salary: £25k - £30k

1. Job Purpose:

As the Learner Engagement Consultant, you will be responsible for engaging and developing relationships with potential learners to place onto apprenticeship programmes and traineeship work placements.

You will be the primary point of contact to manage and support the activities of apprentice recruitment for the candidates through engagement, Information Advice and Guidance (IAG), screening candidates and conducting pre-employability assessments to enable them to apply for suitable vacancies.

A responsibility to help the Business Development Manager deliver to client briefs and aid in the placement of suitable candidates via placing adverts and candidate regeneration.

Responsible for the continuation of successful apprenticeship focussed marketing initiatives by supporting recruitment events across schools and education centres.

2. Main Responsibilities:

As Learner Engagement Consultant, you're the vital link between employers and candidates.

Your role is challenging and diverse involving:

  • Working closely with the Business Development Manager to find the right apprentice for each company that requires support and to ease the transition from applicant to apprentice of every candidate accepted.

  • Provide general administrative support to the recruitment function.

  • Advertising vacancies by creating and placing adverts on the appropriate platforms and when required using social media to advertise positions, attract candidates and build relationships.

  • Research, identify and attract candidates using all appropriate methods to satisfy job requirements.

  • Monitor responses and applications received, making sure that applications are processed efficiently.

  • Using candidate databases to match the right person to the vacancy.

  • Build effective relationships with external stakeholders (e.g. schools) to ensure we have a steady amount of applications.

  • Receive and review applications, managing interviews of potential candidates by telephone and face to face to determine their eligibility and suitability for the relevant apprenticeship opportunity.

  • Confirm candidate eligibility to access government funding under the ESFA and ESF guidelines.

  • Ensure that selected applicants without a link to an employer are prepared for employment with     high-quality CVs and Employability Skills.

  • Create a shortlist of candidates for the client.

  • Obtain both learner and employer feedback post interview for each candidate to discuss with them.

  • Host apprentice events at our offices during key times (National Apprenticeship Week & Results Day)

  • Liaise with local schools, colleges to attend and support careers events at schools and job fairs to promote apprenticeships.

  • Ensure contract compliance in line with set targets and service delivery.

  • A full drivers’ licence, access to own vehicle

  • Strong IT skills

  • Prior experience of account management or working within apprenticeships / education or with unemployed individuals.

  • Experience of employer engagement, learner engagement or candidate resourcing etc.

  • Experience of working to KPI's.

Further Information

This is an office-based role in Derby but will include travel to attend visits, jobs fairs and recruitment open days.
