Apprentice IT Helpdesk Technician

We specialize in providing comprehensive IT support services to SMEs in the East Midlands, helping them maximize their technology investments and improve operational efficiency whilst minimising risks of criminal hackers. As an Apprentice IT Helpdesk Technician, you will have the opportunity to learn and grow in a supportive and dynamic work environment.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line technical support to clients via phone, email, or remote assistance, ensuring prompt and efficient resolution of IT issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems, including desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals, adhering to established service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Assist in configuring, installing, and maintaining software applications, operating systems, and network systems under the guidance of the senior IT
  • Collaborate with team members to document and maintain accurate records of support activities, including ticket tracking and resolution.
  • Proactively monitor and maintain client systems to ensure optimal performance and identify potential issues before they escalate.
  • Participate in IT projects, such as system upgrades and migrations, to gain exposure to a variety of technologies and develop project management skills.
  • Learn and adhere to company policies, procedures, and security protocols to ensure data integrity, confidentiality, and compliance.
  • Assist in setting up and maintaining network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Continuously update knowledge and skills through self-study and training to stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry best practices.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills, professionalism, and empathy when interacting with clients, providing clear and concise explanations of technical solutions.
