Apprenticeships in the eyes of an Employer

An apprenticeship is a real job where you learn, gain experience and get paid.

Apprenticeships combine on-the-job training with classroom learning, giving your employees the foundation knowledge and first-hand experience to build their skills, whether they are existing members of staff or new employees to the team.

What are the benefits to hiring an apprentice?

There are many benefits of investing in your staff through quality training; they become motivated, bring fresh and innovative skills and knowledge to your business and are more likely to stay with an employer who has invested in them.

Who can become an apprentice?

There are a few requirements to become an EMA Apprentice.
The candidate must be 16 or over.
The candidate cannot enrol on a course if they already have an equivalent qualification.
The candidate must be able to travel to either the Derby or Nottingham Training Hub.

As an employer, you can hire a candidate from EMA’s Talent Pool. There is also the possibility of upskilling your current employees.
As long as the employee you would like to enrol hasn’t completed an equivalent qualification, they are able to become an apprentice.

How do EMA Training support apprentices?

When first onboarding with EMA Training, our fantastic Recruitment Team support candidates in understanding, ‘what is an apprenticeship?’, ‘which apprenticeship course is best for me?’ and everything they need to know regarding apprenticeships. Once they become an apprentice, they will have a Trainer and a Mentor to support them through the apprenticeship course. As an employer, you will be in regular communications with your apprentice’s Mentor to ensure they are on track with their apprenticeship and making consistent progression.

Here at EMA Training, we have a big focus on Personal Development, and work hard to ensure all of our apprentices have the opportunity to build on their own personal development. As a Training Provider, we are responsible for who our apprentices are as people within society. We work hard to make sure our apprentices are respectful, responsible citizens.

We were recognised by Ofsted for being successful in this, as EMA received an ‘Outstanding’ in Personal Development in our most recent Ofsted report. Follow the link below to read more.
