Payroll Administrator Apprenticeships

This is an Apprenticeship at Level 3 that will give the Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours in which the Apprentice needs to be fully competent in the payroll / reward functions. The Apprenticeship will be relevant to organisations of all sizes and to Apprentices in payroll and reward practices in the private, public and charity sectors.

 

The employer group considers that this Apprenticeship is the start of a career journey in the profession and our approach to the Assessment Plan is, therefore, based on the following core principles to ensure that:

• The essential Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours are learnt, developed and demonstrated throughout the Apprenticeship

• It is employer-led and workplace-specific, adding value for both employer and the successful Apprentice

• It provides a grounding for access into the many diverse activities within the payroll / reward professions. This enhances the on-going employability of theApprentice

• It promotes and recognises the importance of the payroll / reward professions

Your Apprentice will learn to:

• checking how many hours employees have worked

• how to calculate pay

• working out tax and national insurance payments

• paying wages

• processing holiday, sick and maternity pay, and expenses

• understanding and issuing tax forms

Training and Mentoring

This Apprenticeship will last for 15 months, with your Apprentice receiving training from both their designated Apprenticeships mentor and trainers in our training academy.

 

During the academy sessions, your Apprentice will cover a variety of modules. They will learn the theory behind the practical tasks in their workplace, the fundamentals of payroll and gain an in-depth knowledge about the industry.

With our Match and Fill recruitment service we will advertise your vacancy, screen applicants and pre-interview potential candidates to ensure you only interview the most appropriate people for your specific role – all free of charge.

We can work with you to source a suitable applicant for your business or you can up-skill your own employees. If the employee is under 19 and your business had less than 50 employees, there will be no cost for the training (you may even be eligible for an employer incentive grant toward the cost of the apprentice) . If they are over 19 and/or your business has over 50 employees then you will contribute 10% towards the cost of the training.
