Assistant Accountant Apprentice

A family run accountancy business based in Spondon is looking for an apprentice to join their team! An exciting opportunity to begin your career! The role will be to support the business clients with their accounting needs from payroll, end of year accounts and VAT returns. Alongside your role EMA will support you in achieving a Level 3 AAT.

Roles & Responsibilities

This role offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in general practice accountancy while assisting with various administrative tasks, duties will include:

  • Assisting with bookkeeping tasks including data entry, reconciliations, and maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Supporting in the preparation and submission of VAT returns and payroll processing.
  • Assisting with year-end accounts for both companies and personal tax returns under supervision.
  • Collaborating with team members to ensure timely completion of tasks and projects.
  • Progressively taking on responsibilities in preparing accounts and tax returns for review by senior staff.
  • Managing administrative duties such as scanning and filing documents, maintaining client records, and organizing office supplies.
  • Providing support during client meetings, including preparation of refreshments and assisting with meeting logistics.
