Role Overview

Business Admin Apprentice

This role will support the smooth running of all business administration functions, gaining hands-on experience across general administration, export logistics, customer service and laboratory administration. This role is designed to provide a broad foundation in business administration operations.

 

Roles & Responsibilities

General Administration

  •  Assist with day-to-day office administration tasks, including maintaining accurate records and filing systems.
  • Support internal teams with document control, compliance, and general office duties.
  •      Handle incoming calls and emails professionally, directing queries as appropriate.
  • Help with the preparation and review of business documentation.
  • Provide general office support

Export & Logistics Administration

  • Be involved in import and export logistics operations, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations and documentation
  • Liaise with various carriers and our drivers.
  • Track and trace shipments to ensure timely delivery and report any issues related to delays or damages.
  • Maintain accurate records of all logistics transactions.

Customer Service Administration

  • Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, the company website and in person, providing timely and effective solutions.
  • Process customer orders and monitor their progress through to delivery.
  • Provide regular updates to customers on order and shipment status as required.
  • Support the sales team in managing relationships and resolving complaints.

Laboratory Administration

  • Booking in customer samples for laboratory analysis.
  • Be a point of contact for lab-related customer queries, distributing calls and responding to general enquiries.
  • Distribute lab reports to customers, ensuring timely and accurate communication.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate records of lab activities, including sample logs, lab scorecard data, and summaries of analyses.

Business Support Administration

  • Participate in cross-departmental projects and meetings.
  • Support the implementation of business improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with data entry, reporting, and analysis as required.
